  • Graduate Student Housing
    Prices for student rooms are $84 for a single room and $67 for a double room (per person). Both singles and doubles have shared (hall) bathrooms. The rooms will be located in the Campus North Residential Commons (5500 South University Ave Chicago, IL 60637) an 8 minute walk from the conference facilities. To reserve a room, please go to the conference registration link on Eventbrite, select "tickets," go to the "add-ons" section and select the rooms and dates which you would like to reserve. Note that due to limited capacity, reservations will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. A photo ID will be issued to each person staying in Graduate housing. Please be sure to send in a headshot with a white background (jpg, png, or pdf) along with the add-on confirmation from Eventbrite to ic2s2.2022@gmail.com. There will be a mandatory 30-minute meeting to go over dorm policies for all guests that will take place on either arrival day or the day after. The Room (items below are per person) XL Twin Bed Dresser Desk and Chair Lightweight Blanket & Pillow (one per person) Linen/Towel Pack (flat sheet, fitted sheet, pillowcase, bath towel, hand towel, wash cloth) Housing Space Air conditioning in single rooms and double rooms. All single and double rooms share a common floor bathroom and each floor is accessible by elevator House lounges are shared community spaces among the rooms in near proximity to a particular house lounge. These cannot exclusively be reserved, they are first come, first serve. There is no charge for these spaces. House kitchens are accessible in the summer. Laundry rooms are available in the basement and accept coin or credit. (soap is not provided) Bike rooms and storage are not accessible in the summer. Building Commons (Resident Dean Commons) and Recreation Rooms are not available in the summer. Resident Dean Kitchens are not available for use. Residence Hall Policy Visitor policy will be updated in accordance with current Covid guidance closer to the Summer. Quiet hours are observed in all halls after 10pm, until 7am the following morning. A linen/towel pack is provided for each guest Only one linen/towel pack is provided per person. In order to exchange, all pieces of pack must be returned at time of exchange, partial exchanges are not permitted. Luggage Storage is not available, all items must remain with a guest, on their person or in their room at all times and should not be left unattended. Standard Check-In time is after 2pm CST Waiting areas in the residence halls are not available before check-in. There is not access to a residence hall before check-in, including front desk area and lounges.     CTA Buses Several Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) buses serve the University of Chicago campus. CTA fare is $2.25. #171 U. of Chicago/Hyde Park: Services Lake Shore Drive/54th Street and the 55th-56th-57th Street Metra station. This route travels to campus on 55th Street and Ellis Avenue and then circles campus. This route operates weekdays from 7:15 a.m. to 6:20 p.m.; Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6:20 p.m. After Summer Convocation, a reduced service schedule goes into effect. #172 U. of Chicago/Kenwood: Services Lake Shore Drive/50th Street and the Hyde Park-53rd Street Metra station.   • Information for Talks
    Talks are grouped into similarly themed sessions and each talk is allotted 15 minutes. Your talk should be approximately 10 minutes in length with 5 additional minutes for questions. We recommend that one person, but no more than two, from each team present. Rooms are equipped with full AV systems with one computer. Presentations can be brought on an external drive. Room chairs will be present to assist with any technical questions prior to the start of each session. Each room will have a Room Chair who will help you set up your presentation. Our online schedule can be found here, and information about your room presider can be found here. Please email your slides to your Room Chair before 11:00PM on July 19 and include your panel number and the title of your talk. Unfortunately, we cannot support presentations on your individual laptops. On the day of your presentation, please check-in with the Room Chair in your assigned room 15 minutes prior to the start of the Concurrent Session and the Moderator will go over any last minute adjustments to the schedule. We would like to record each panel for folks who couldn't make the conference in person. If you do not agree to be recorded, please let your Room Chair know ahead of time. If you need any additional technical support, please feel reach out to your Room Chair (and include your panel number and talk).
  • Information for Posters
    The recommended poster size is 24 in (61 cm) width by 36 in (94.5 cm) height. You have the option to print your poster yourself, or you can send us a digital copy no later than July 1 and we will print it for you for $64. To have us print your poster, follow these instructions: 1. Pay the $64 fee using Eventbrite. 2. Upload your poster using this form no later than July 1. More details on the posters and the timing of your poster sessions will be shared soon.

    IC2S2 is dedicated to providing a respectful and inclusive conference experience for everyone. All persons attending IC2S2 2022 are expected to endorse the below ground rules, and to actively discourage any undesired behavior. Please feel empowered to engage politely when you or others are disrespected, and to raise awareness of this code of conduct. Conference participants and attendees are expected to interact with others in a respectful and courteous manner, regardless of, for instance, age, gender, race, country of origin, abilities, or professional status. Abusive, discriminatory, intimidating, harassing, or threatening behavior towards any other attendee or staff will not be tolerated. Persons asked to stop unacceptable behavior are expected to comply immediately. Organizers and staff are mandated to take all necessary action to prevent and/or stop such conduct, including temporary or permanent removal from the conference. Since IC2S2 is an in person conference, the following is pointed out explicitly: Do not assume a false identity or convey the impression that someone else is acting. Do not audio or video record presentations other than your own. Seek permission where possible. Respect requests to take down content violating this code.
